The demand for artificial intelligence (AI) roles is expected to increase in 2024, with top three roles being sought after are artificial intelligence (AI) engineer, AI mentor or trainer, data scientist and analyst, Southeast Asia talent platform Glints said in a report on Tuesday.

Glints, the Singapore-based talent platform and solution, has on Tuesday announced the appointment of Jessica Le as its new general manager in Vietnam. Under Le’s leadership, she will be responsible for overall business strategy and operations in Vietnam.

Glints announced in December last year it is reducing its team size and retrenching some of its staff.

Glints' announcement also came after Singapore-based recommerce platform Carousell said it is laying off 10 percent of its total headcount last week.

Glints, a Singapore=based end-to-end regional talent ecosystem for career development and recruitment, said Tuesday it has raised $50 million in a Series D oversubscribed round co-led by DCM Ventures, Lavender Hill Capital, and returning investor PERSOL Holdings.

The long-term goal for Glints is to evolve the talent ecosystem in Southeast Asia from simply being transactional in nature to an end-to-end solution for both businesses and talent

The company plans to use the fresh capital to support its overall mission of empowering the career development of 120 million professionals in Southeast Asia by expanding in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Taiwan, and hiring for its product and engineering teams.
