Carro, Asia Pacific’s leading online automotive marketplace, sees the rise of Chinese electric vehicles (EV) in Southeast Asia as a tailwind for its used-car business, a spokesperson at Carro said to TNGlobal.

Carro, Asia Pacific’s leading online automotive marketplace has set up a S$450 million asset-backed securitisation facility backed by Singapore car loan receivables.

Backed by Japan-based SoftBank Group, Carro is also considering a second listing in Singapore, the report added.

The SEA Monthly Funding Tracker for September 2025 reflected a sharp rebound in funding across the region. Total funding for the month stood at $230.6 million across 10 rounds, marking a 125.64 percent increase month-on-month (August 2025: $102.2 million) and a 58.72 percent rise year-on-year compared to September 2024 ($145.3 million).

Carro, the Singapore-based online car marketplace, has raised $60 million in a round led by Japan's sovereign wealth fund Cool Japan Fund, to accelerate demand of Japanese cars across Asia Pacific.
