The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. marked the graduation of 126 participants from the second and third cohorts of the Digital Leadership Excellence (DLE) Program.
The collaboration aims to strengthen digital leadership capabilities across government, academia and industry, Huawei Malaysia said in a statement on Monday. The second and third cohorts completed the four-month hybrid program in 2025, with 60 participants graduating in June and another 66 in October. Combined with the inaugural 2024 cohort of 50 graduates, the program has trained 176 digital leaders to date.
The fourth cohort is currently underway, while the fifth cohort is expected to conclude by the end of the year. The program aims to train 300 digital leaders by 2026.
The program focuses on leadership development and exposure to technologies including 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, green technology and cybersecurity. As part of the program, graduates completed capstone projects addressing areas including education, healthcare, talent development, financial security, agriculture and social inclusion.
Speaking at the event, Huawei Malaysia CEO Simon Sun said digital transformation requires leaders who can apply technology to address practical challenges and improve organizations and communities.
MCMC and Huawei Malaysia said the collaboration supports Malaysia’s broader digital transformation and development goals.
