Malaysia regulators team up to strengthen scams prevention and enforcement
The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) have on Friday agreed to further enhance cooperation in enforcement and strengthen efforts in mitigating and preventing scams.
Internet messaging and social media service providers to be deemed registered in Malaysia from 2026
Malaysia’s communications regulator said on Monday it will deem internet messaging and social media service providers with eight million or more users in the country as registered licensees under its Applications Service Provider Class framework, easing formal licensing requirements under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
Telegram and Tencent start licensing process to operate their platforms in Malaysia
