Bluebird is committed to using 10 percent of electric vehicles by 2030, according to its latest annual report.

Indonesia is always keen to develop domestic EV production facilities to take advantage of its rich nickel reserves, an important material to produce EV batteries.

The Ministry of International Trade & Industry (MITI) in Malaysia announced Tuesday it has approved TESLA’s application to import Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) into Malaysia.

Indonesia has the world’s largest nickel reserve which is essential for the battery industry.

Jokowi previously said the government aims to establish an “integrated EV ecosystem” that would include such industry activities as metals mining, battery production and car assembly.

"Tesla announced a 10 percent of workforce reduction. My role was chosen to be eliminated as of today," the firm's country manager in Singapore Christopher Bousigues wrote in a LinkedIn post on Sunday.

The message also came two days after the world's richest man told employees to return to the workplace or leave the company.

Neighbouring Indonesia has been publicly wooing Tesla to invest in the country to help develop its ambitious EV and battery industry plans. Indonesian President Joko Widodo is planning to meet Tesla Founder and Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk.
