Singapore Fashion Council has launched a Sustainability Readiness Intelligence tool intended to help fashion brands and manufacturers across Singapore and Southeast Asia assess their preparedness for stricter sustainability and supply-chain requirements in major export markets.
The tool was introduced alongside a new sectoral plan at the council’s Be The Change Summit 2026 and is designed to produce a business scorecard and timed action roadmap for participating companies.
Tool assesses five areas of sustainability readiness
The assessment covers more than 50 questions across governance and strategy, environment and operations, responsible supply chains, circularity and design, and market readiness. The resulting scorecard is intended to identify gaps and point businesses toward relevant certifications, resources and next steps.
The tool draws on a sectoral plan and an assessment report commissioned by the council with research agency South Pole. The council said the work is meant to help ASEAN suppliers respond to tightening disclosure, traceability and due-diligence expectations in major global markets.
Singapore seeks a regional role in fashion sustainability
Singapore Fashion Council CEO Zhang Ting-Ting said the initiative is intended to help regional companies treat sustainability as a business-resilience issue rather than only a compliance exercise.
The council also announced Singapore’s participation as Asia’s only representative in the Fashion Cities Coalition and plans to host a Singapore Relay workshop in January 2027.
