Bitdeer Technologies Group, a Singapore-headquartered technology company for AI and Bitcoin mining infrastructure, has bought about 200 acres of undeveloped land in Milam County, Texas, for $100 million in cash, to expand its planned AI and high-performance-computing data-center operations.

In a statement on Tuesday, Bitdeer said the land lot is near its existing Rockdale facility, about 70 miles from Austin. The outright ownership gave it long-term control to plan, finance, and build AI and HPC infrastructure without the renewal risk of a lease, Bitdeer said.

The Milam County sites currently have about 563 MW of interconnected grid capacity, with plans to scale to 742 MW plus a dedicated water supply, the company said. After the deal, Bitdeer owns or operates about 255 acres and 742 MW of existing and pipeline power capacity in the county. On global scale, it has 3 GW across its portfolio, spanning the United States, Norway, Bhutan, Canada, Malaysia, and Ethiopia.

Bitdeer, spun off from Bitcoin-mining chipmaker Bitmain, is shifting from cryptocurrency mining toward AI and HPC hosting. The company remains lossmaking as it reported an operating loss of $101.7 million and a net loss for the second quarter of 2026, on revenue of $228.8 million.

CFO Michael Potter said owning the land gave the company greater certainty over its development plans and removed lease-renewal risk, while letting it keep Bitcoin mining on the site during development.

Bitdeer Technologies Group, headquartered in Singapore and listed on Nasdaq, provides Bitcoin-mining and AI-computing infrastructure and operates data centers in several countries. Founder Jihan Wu, a co-founder of Bitmain, is chairman and chief executive.
