Vietnam’s VinFast loaded more than 5,000 electric vehicles onto two cargo vessels at Hai Phong Port on July 20 and 21, marking the company’s 37th and 38th dedicated export shipments in less than four years since its first international delivery of 999 vehicles in late 2022.

In a statement on Thursday, VinFast said the first vessel, Sea Patris, a Luxembourg-flagged Roll-on/Roll-off (RORO) vessel, docked on July 20 and loaded approximately 1,500 VinFast VF 6 electric vehicles. The shipment was manufactured for Green SM (GSM), the Vietnamese ride-hailing platform utilizing only VinFast EVs, to support its planned expansion across European markets.

Sea Patris departed on July 21, with calls scheduled at Nansha Port in China and Morocco before arriving at the Port of Koper in Slovenia by late August 2026, subject to weather conditions.

The second vessel, Silver Queen, a Panama-flagged RORO vessel, arrived on July 21 and loaded more than 3,500 VinFast electric vehicles destined for the Philippines and Indonesia. The vessel is expected to arrive at Batangas Port in the Philippines and Jakarta in August 2026.

July 21 marked Silver Queen’s 21st voyage transporting VinFast vehicles; since the first shipment in late 2022, it has delivered vehicles to the United States, Canada, the Philippines, and Indonesia across 20 prior consignments. VinFast has also chartered 16 other RORO vessels for international exports.

VinFast has established a presence in more than 10 international markets including the United States, Canada, Europe, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Middle East. GSM has expanded ride-hailing operations to Laos, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, and Kazakhstan, with plans to enter several European countries.
