Japan’s JCB International and Malaysia’s Fiuu, a payment processing platform formerly known as Razer Merchant Services, have entered into a direct acquiring partnership covering Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines, enabling JCB card payments across online and offline merchant channels in the three markets.
In a statement on Friday, JCB International said the partnership enables direct connectivity between JCB and Fiuu for payment processing. Both companies plan to explore expansion into additional Southeast Asian markets including Thailand.
Fiuu processed a total payment volume of more than $13 billion in the financial year 2025 and supports more than 110 payment methods across Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.
Eng Sheng Guan, CEO of Fiuu, said the direct acquiring relationship with JCB strengthens Fiuu’s ability to support merchants with broader card acceptance across both digital and physical commerce in Southeast Asia.
Shimpei Yamaguchi, Managing Director of JCB International Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., said Fiuu’s regional expertise, merchant network, and multi-channel payment capabilities make it an important partner in expanding JCB acceptance across Southeast Asia.
JCB launched its card business in Japan in 1961 and began international expansion in 1981. Its acceptance network covers approximately 72 million merchants worldwide, with more than 181 million cardmembers primarily in Asian countries and territories.
Fiuu was established in 2005 and is headquartered in Shah Alam, Malaysia, operating as a subsidiary of Razer Inc.
