Google Cloud, an AI-powered cloud platform, has announced a series of new technologies aimed at supporting the development and deployment of autonomous AI agents across Southeast Asia.
In a release on Thursday, Google Cloud said the move reflect a broader industry trend toward integrating AI more deeply into enterprise systems, with a focus on automation, scalability, and security.
The Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform can help organizations build, scale, and manage AI agents capable of performing complex tasks. The platform integrates capabilities for model selection, development, orchestration, and security into a single system.

According to Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, adoption of Gemini Enterprise has grown, with a reported 40 percent quarter-over-quarter increase in paid monthly active users in the first quarter of 2026. He noted that organizations are increasingly shifting focus from building individual AI agents to managing large-scale deployments.
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said the platform is intended to connect data, applications, and AI systems into a unified workflow, enabling organizations to streamline operations.
Google Cloud reported that nearly 75 percent of its customers are using AI products in their operations. These include companies in Southeast Asia such as CIMB Niaga and FairPrice Group, as well as global organizations including NASA, Mars, and Unilever. Examples cited include applications in banking services, retail experiences, enterprise operations, and spaceflight safety.
The company also updated its AI infrastructure, including the introduction of its eighth-generation Tensor Processing Units, TPU 8t and TPU 8i. These chips serve AI model training and real-time inference, with improved performance and efficiency compared to previous generations.
In addition, Google Cloud outlined enhancements to its data and security offerings. The Agentic Data Cloud aims to provide a unified architecture for managing enterprise data across multiple environments, while new security tools incorporate AI to detect and respond to threats. The company said its systems are already being used to process millions of security alerts and reduce analysis times.
Google Cloud also introduced updates to its productivity tools under Google Workspace, including AI-powered features for email, document creation, and collaboration, intended to support interaction between users and AI agents.
