Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Salesforce have announced a Slack AI Launchpad Programme intended to help up to 1,000 small and medium-sized enterprises build AI-enabled workflows.

Announced on October 13 at IMDA’s SMEs Go Digital Day, the two-year initiative will offer qualifying participating SMEs a 60-day Slack Business+ trial for as many as 10 users, paired with two workshops. The workshops are intended to help businesses identify an operational process suitable for automation and implement at least one AI-assisted workflow.

The arrangement supports Singapore’s National AI Impact Programme, which aims to help 10,000 enterprises advance AI adoption over three years. The Slack initiative is one of several pathways under the national effort, rather than a commitment to supply free software to all 10,000 businesses.

Participants will be able to use Slackbot and Slackbot Skills, alongside templates, guides, prompt libraries and a community for additional support during the trial. Salesforce said the workshops would be delivered with partner organizations.

The program is designed around the challenge of moving from AI awareness to concrete use cases, according to the companies. The announcement did not specify how many of the SMEs would complete successful production workflows, nor did it provide the long-term subscription terms after the trial.
