Cebu Pacific is working with Thinking Machines Data Science and OpenAI on an enterprise AI program that the airline says has reduced processing time across legal, engineering and project-intake workflows.

The Philippine airline said the program combines ChatGPT Enterprise with workflow redesign, governance and evaluation tailored to different business use cases.

Following the program, 86 percent of surveyed users said AI supported more than one-third of their daily work, according to the companies.

Time savings across internal workflows

Cebu Pacific said legal contract review time fell from an average of 2.5 hours to around 1.2 hours per pass. Project intake and triage turnaround fell from five days to around one day, with about 80 percent less manual review effort.

Engineering reference searches that previously took 10 to 15 minutes were reduced to under 10 seconds, the airline said.

Fabricio Ibáñez, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Cebu Pacific, said the company is using AI to reduce friction in everyday processes and help teams make decisions more quickly.

“At Cebu Pacific, we see AI as a practical way to make every customer’s journey simpler and our operations more reliable,” Ibáñez said. “It helps our people solve problems faster, make better decisions, and focus on higher-value work.”

Next phase includes agentic applications

Cebu Pacific said its next phase will expand ChatGPT-enabled work, develop applications using OpenAI APIs and explore agentic systems connected to enterprise data and workflows.

The airline worked with Thinking Machines Data Science, a Temus entity and OpenAI Advanced and Services Partner in Asia Pacific, on the deployment. Thinking Machines operates offices in Manila, Singapore and Bangkok.

The companies said governance and evaluation were calibrated to the risk of each workflow, while business teams participated in hands-on co-creation before wider deployment.
