China’s ZTE Corporation has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesia’s PT Ekamas Mora Republik (MoraRepublic) to explore cooperation in developing Fixed Wireless Access and Fibre-to-the-Home services for residential and enterprise customers across Indonesia.

In a statement on Monday, ZTE said the document was signed at the MWC Shanghai 2026. MoraRepublic is an integrated digital infrastructure and services company formed through the merger of PT Mora Telematika Indonesia (Moratelindo) and PT Eka Mas Republik (MyRepublic), serving millions of customers across Indonesia.

Under the partnership, the two companies will jointly develop broader FWA networks, drive FTTH network evolution, and improve service quality through AI-powered network operations. They will also explore end-to-end AI-driven network architecture to support intelligent broadband operations, service assurance, and network optimization, alongside proof-of-concept activities and technical knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Liu Sen, President Director of ZTE Indonesia, said ZTE can bring experience from large-scale FWA and FTTH implementations across multiple international markets. The partnership with MoraRepublic’s infrastructure footprint and local execution capabilities aims to enhance broadband access and service quality in a practical, scalable, and sustainable way, the executive added.

Yopie Widjaja, CFO of MoraRepublic, said the partnership is strategic step to support Indonesia’s transition toward a more inclusive digital economy, moving beyond traditional network expansion toward more intelligent broadband development. The collaboration can improve service reliability, optimizes network performance, and enhance user experience at scale.
