Intel is set to invest $2.6 billion more in Vietnam, raising the total investment to $4.1 billion, the U.S. chipmaker said in a statement on Friday, at its 20th anniversary of operation in Vietnam.

Intel highlighted it has grown from a few hundred employees at its Saigon High Tech Park facility in 2006 into the largest assembly and test facility in Intel’s global network, with around 6,500 employees. Prior to the latest announcement, Intel’s investment in Vietnam was $1.5 billion.

Intel Products Vietnam, the Vietnamese entity of Intel, has produced over four billion units and contributed more than $110 billion in export value over two decades. In 2025 alone, the facility contributed $11.67 billion in exports, accounting for 57 percent of Saigon High Tech Park’s total export turnover and approximately 12 percent of Ho Chi Minh City’s total exports, Intel added.

Beyond manufacturing, Intel has invested approximately $22 million in education, environment, safety, and health programs across Vietnam. Over two decades, Intel has helped develop nearly 10,000 Vietnamese engineers, technicians, and leaders, and enabled more than 600 local suppliers to participate in advanced manufacturing.

Most recently, Intel donated over 30 semiconductor assembly and test tools to Saigon High Tech Park and Vietnam National University Hanoi (VNU Hanoi) to support semiconductor education and research, making it the first company in the country to repurpose chip manufacturing equipment for training purposes.

On sustainability, the facility has saved more than 60 million kWh of electricity, utilized 3.2 million kWh of green electricity, reduced net emissions of more than 16,400 tons of carbon, and recycled 99 percent of its waste.

Looking ahead, Intel is working with government and local partners to expand its Digital Readiness Program into AI for Future Workforce and AI for Youth initiatives, in support of Vietnam’s goal of developing 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030.
