Onibi, an independent game studio developing AI-powered open-world multiplayer RPG Tomo: Endless Blue, has closed a strategic funding round led by Thailand-based SeaX Ventures and France-based Pix Capital.
In a statement on Wednesday, SeaX Ventures said the proceeds would help accelerate development toward a full commercial launch and support an upcoming Alpha launch on Kickstarter.
Founded by Benjamin Devienne, Onibi is building a game with proprietary AI models generating unique villages, cultures, NPCs, dialogue, quests, and stories for each player, combining with physics-based voxel systems, scalable multiplayer infrastructure, and creator tools. The long-term vision is to develop a user-generated content platform where players can build their own RPG experiences using AI-assisted tools, moving from idea to playable content through simple prompts.
Devienne said the backing from SeaX Ventures and Pix Capital will help push the technology further, grow the Kickstarter community, and accelerate the studio’s strategy in Asia.
Kid Parchariyanon, Founder and Managing Partner of SeaX Ventures, said AI-native game development is one of the most consequential frontiers in the broader deep-tech wave.
Onibi’s team includes veterans from Fortnite, League of Legends, Baldur’s Gate 3, Fall Guys, Grand Theft Auto, and World of Warcraft. The studio has team members across San Francisco, London, and Bordeaux, and is developing Tomo: Endless Blue in partnership with French studio Mujina.
