Sovereign AI cloud platform RE:AI of Singapore-headquartered Singtel Digital InfraCo has partnered with California-based Cohesity to develop a service that enables enterprises to convert backup archives into searchable data sources for artificial intelligence applications.

The new service will allow enterprises and government agencies to catalogue and organize historical backup data so it can be searched and queried in real time. This aims to enable AI applications to draw on a broader range of information, including long-term historical context, Singtel said in a Thursday release.

Bill Chang, CEO of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo unit, said enterprise backup data has traditionally been used mainly for recovery purposes rather than analysis. By combining RE’s infrastructure with Cohesity’s data security and indexing technology, the companies say organizations will be able to analyze historical data while keeping sensitive information within Singapore’s regulatory environment.

Under the partnership, Cohesity will also contribute research and development resources to Singtel Digital InfraCo’s Centre of Excellence for Applied AI with NVIDIA, which was announced in February 2026.

Sanjay Poonen, president and CEO of Cohesity, said the collaboration can transform protected enterprise data usable for AI applications while maintaining security and governance requirements. In addition to enabling search capabilities, the service will allow enterprises to retrieve archived information to reconstruct what data existed at specific points in time, which can support audits, investigations and regulatory reporting.

The platform is also designed to assist incident response efforts. During events such as ransomware attacks, AI agents can identify affected systems and isolate impacted data across backup histories to support recovery. The service will be offered in single-tenant and multi-tenant configurations to meet security and compliance requirements in sectors such as financial services, healthcare and government.
