Artificial intelligence (AI) innovations developed by Indonesian women-led startups, such as hospital automation tools and inclusive communication platforms, are approaching Vietnam through a regional expansion initiative led by Indonesia-based Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison under its women-focused innovation program SheHacks.
Global Market Benchmarking Trip, an initiative under SheHacks program, opens new market opportunities and strengthens Southeast Asia’s innovation network. It also highlights how Indonesian startups are using AI to transform sectors such as healthcare, marketing, accessibility, and digital education while positioning themselves for regional growth. The startups reflect the growing interest among Southeast Asian innovators in applying AI to practical business and social challenges.
Five startups from the 2025 SheHacks MVP Accelerator joined the program. They include DoctorTool, an AI-powered digital ecosystem connecting patients, healthcare facilities, and medical professionals; Serenic.ai, a clinical AI platform that automates hospital administrative tasks such as claims optimization and medical record documentation.
Accessibility technology was represented by Hear Me, a platform that uses digital communication tools to help bridge communication gaps for the Deaf community.
Two other startups focused on digital economy solutions. Katalis AI combines artificial intelligence and data analytics to help businesses optimize marketing campaigns, while Lunar Interactive uses gamification technology to help users develop foreign-language speaking skills through interactive digital experiences.
During the visit, founders participated in activities aimed at opening investment opportunities, building partnerships, and exchanging business insights. The program also included mentoring opportunities with practitioners in Vietnam to help startups strengthen their products and develop more sustainable business models. The Vietnam program included 51 business-matching sessions, mentoring with experts in fields such as AI, business strategy, legal, economics, and community building, as well as meetings with investors and innovation ecosystem partners.
Reski Damayanti, Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer at Indosat, noted that the initiative highlights the role of cross-border collaboration in accelerating digital innovation in Southeast Asia. The executive said the program is intended to give women founders greater access to the global technology ecosystem, helping them refine products, secure funding, and scale their innovations internationally.
SheHacks also established connections with six investors, six government agencies, and nine potential partners in Vietnam, supporting collaboration between Indonesian startups and the local innovation ecosystem.
The Indonesian startups also engaged with several Vietnamese innovation institutions, including the Department of Science and Technology Ho Chi Minh City, the Startup & Innovation Hub Ho Chi Minh City (SIHUB), the Business Startup Support Centre (BSSC), and the Investment & Trade Promotion Center of Ho Chi Minh City (ITPC).
Featured sessions with Vietnam-focused Do Ventures and DMZ Ventures gave founders a valuable platform to showcase their innovations, connect with investors, and strengthen their cross-border presence.
Indosat said the initiative is part of its broader effort to expand SheHacks beyond Indonesia and strengthen regional cooperation in Southeast Asia’s innovation ecosystem.
