East Ventures, a Singapore-based venture capital firm, and Temasek Foundation, a Singapore-based philanthropic organization that supports sustainable development initiatives in Asia, have announced the third edition of the Climate Impact Innovations Challenge (CIIC) 2025, Indonesia’s largest climate tech innovations competition.
The duo said in a statement on Wednesday that following the success of the 2024 edition, CIIC 2025 continues to empower tech innovators to showcase their sustainable solutions.
The applicants will compete for a total prize pool of Rp10 billion ($609,986) to pilot their solutions in Indonesia to tackle various ecological challenges and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
This year, CIIC 2025 focuses on three tracks, which include:
● Energy Transition: Innovative ideas and solutions that promote renewable energy adoption, sustainable mobility systems, and efficient resource use, to enable inclusive, cost-effective energy transitions that benefit communities and industries while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
● Sustainable Agriculture: Innovative ideas and solutions that promote sustainable food systems, resilient agricultural and aquaculture practices, and nature-based solutions, that implement scalable, inclusive strategies that enhance the livelihoods of farmers and fishermen, ensure food security, restore ecological balance, and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
● Circular Economy: Innovative ideas and solutions aimed at promoting both waste and water circularity and helping adapt to climate-related disasters, thereby preventing and managing pollution, improving community health, enhancing resilience to climate change impacts, and significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Given the emergence of AI as an enabler for innovation, CIIC 2025 is also seeking solutions that leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to address any of three tracks of the competition.
“We are excited to once again present the Climate Impact Innovations Challenge 2025, reinforcing our commitment to driving meaningful change,
“As the global environmental and climate crisis intensifies, we recognize the importance of creating a platform that fosters local solutions that are both practical and impactful in Indonesia,” said Avina Sugiarto, Partner at East Ventures.
“Creating intentional impact has always been part of East Ventures’ DNA, and we believe CIIC serves as a catalyst to empower innovations and push the boundaries of what is
possible for a more sustainable future in Indonesia,” she added.
Meanwhile, Heng Li Lang, Head, Climate and Liveability, Temasek Foundation, said that since its launch in 2023, the Climate Impact Innovations Challenge platform has grown tremendously, reflecting a strong and growing global commitment to tackle sustainability challenges in Asia, particularly in Indonesia.
“Temasek Foundation is honored to collaborate with East Ventures once again on this meaningful initiative. We look forward to seeing the solutions scale, creating lasting positive impact to benefit the People and the Planet,” she added.
The competition spans from March to September 2025, with the key timeline and activities listed below:

Last year, the CIIC awarded three winners: SunGreenH2 (Energy Transition), Hydrogen Refinery (Sustainable Agriculture), and AC Biode (Circular Economy).
