Creative Capital Ventures (CCV), an innovation group pioneering cultural and lifestyle innovation, has announced the appointment of Ken Cheung as Chairman, Asia Pacific and General Partner, based in Singapore.
The firm said in a statement on last Friday that Cheung brings over three decades of experience in the technology, media, and entertainment sectors, having held key leadership roles at industry giants such as Tencent, where he founded QQ Music, Warner Music Group, BBC, Facebook, and Instagram.
As a serial entrepreneur, he also co-founded QQ Music, Song Protocol, Clement Technology, and Luxembourg-incorporated MoreThan Capital, a community-based and purpose-driven global venture fund.
His extensive experience across Asia Pacific, North America, and Europe positions CCV to capitalize on emerging regional and cross-border opportunities across these markets.
His leadership will be instrumental in expanding CCV’s global outlook and investment strategy, said the statement.
As a firm focused on shaping tomorrow’s culture and lifestyle industries, CCV invests in and accelerates companies at the forefront of these sectors.
By leveraging cutting-edge technology, data, and visionary talent, CCV said it is helping build the next generation of transformative businesses.
John Darling, Founding Partner of Creative Capital Ventures, highlighted the significance of this appointment.
According to him, Cheung’s appointment marks a transformative moment for CCV as it expands its footprint in Asia Pacific.
“His unparalleled experience and proven track record in building and scaling businesses across multiple regions align perfectly with our mission to accelerate cultural and lifestyle innovation globally,
“With Cheung at the helm in Asia, we are poised to unlock new opportunities and deliver extraordinary value to our partners and portfolio companies,” he added.
According to the statement, this appointment signals a new phase of growth and opportunity for CCV as it builds a leadership team and strengthens its role in high-impact investments.
“I’m thrilled to join CCV as Chairman, Asia Pacific and General Partner,
“With over 30 years of intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial experience under my belt, this role is a perfect match with CCV’s vision and values,” said Cheung.
According to him, the opportunities across Asia Pacific are immense as it accounts for over 60 percent of the world’s population and is home to some of the largest and fastest-growing economies, including China, Japan, India, and Indonesia.
“Working closely with our other six General Partners and a strong lineup of Venture Partners, I look forward to helping CCV build a truly global outlook and connecting opportunities across Asia and beyond,
“This is a pivotal moment, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead,” he added.
