AirAsia MOVE (formerly known as airasia Superapp), the Malaysia-based online travel agency (OTA) platform, has added Myanmar Airways International (MAI) as its latest direct airline partner, enhancing its flight offerings.

In line with both companies’ vision to provide travelers a seamless journey and affordable travel experience, this partnership enables AirAsia MOVE users to access a wider range of exciting destinations served by Myanmar Airways International, covering 35 destinations across Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, China, India, Vietnam and more, AirAsia MOVE said in a statement on Thursday.

It is noted that aside from Myanmar Airways International, AirAsia MOVE partners directly with over 700 other notable airlines partners such as Citilink, ANA, Air Mauritius, Etihad, and more on its platform.

Its ecosystem includes 900,000 hotels world-wide plus ride-hailing, insurance, duty-free shopping and more, underpinned by integrated financial services by BigPay.

According to the statement, AirAsia MOVE users can conveniently choose from over a million hotels across the globe to complete their travel plans, along with first and last-mile connectivity through airport transfers, and other ancillary travel products such as online duty-free shopping, travel insurance and more.

All of these services are encapsulated by the AirAsia Rewards loyalty program, allowing users to earn and redeem AirAsia points for every transaction across the whole ecosystem within the app.

MAI, together with its sister airlines Mingalar (formerly Air KBZ), is Myanmar’s leading airlin.

The airline has been connecting Myanmar and Malaysia, continuously operating daily flights for three years since 2021 COVID-19 hit the travel industry.

Further to that, operating from its primary hubs in Yangon and Mandalay, MAI serves 36 destinations across Myanmar and internationally, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, China, India, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Cambodia, Vietnam, South Korea, Russia, and Laos, with a fleet comprising six Airbus A320 family aircraft, two Embraer E190s, four ATR72-600s, plus one Boeing 737 freighter.
