Malaysia’s equity crowdfunding platform pitchIN has on Wednesday announced a strategic partnership with cryptocurrency exchange Hata to enable trading of digital assets and utility tokens issued through its Token Crowdfunding (TCF) platform.

PitchIN Chief Executive Officer Sam Shafie said in a statement that this collaboration with Hata is the first of its kind in Malaysia, creating a one-stop center where businesses can raise funds via digital assets or tokens to accelerate their growth, with the added benefit of seeking subsequent listing on Hata’s exchange.

PitchIN operates both Equity Crowdfunding (ECF) and Token Crowdfunding (TCF) platforms under the supervision of the Securities Commission Malaysia.

Through its TCF platform, pitchIN is licensed to facilitate fundraising for businesses via digital assets, with a maximum fundraising cap of MYR 100 million ($23.34 million).

This exclusive partnership offers businesses that successfully raise funds through pitchIN’s TCF platform the opportunity to list their tokens for trading on both Hata Malaysia and Hata Global exchanges, providing secondary market access for their digital assets.

Hata, Malaysia’s newest Digital Asset Exchange (DAX), is licensed by both the Securities Commission Malaysia and the Labuan Financial Services Authority (LFSA).

It operates both a local MYR exchange and a global USD exchange, allowing users in Malaysia and globally to trade digital assets in Ringgit Malaysia and US Dollars.

“We are thrilled to partner with pitchIN. By supporting the listing of digital tokens from pitchIN’s TCF platform—subject to regulatory approval—Hata’s exchange provides Malaysians with subsequent access to trade these innovative tokens,” said David Low, Chief Executive Officer of Hata.

“Much like how a stock exchange lists equities post-initial public offering (IPO), Hata aims to serve as the platform where these digital assets and digital tokens can be traded locally,

“Moreover, Hata’s global reach allows international investors to access these tokens on our platform,” he added.

It is noted that Hata offers the lowest trading fees among digital asset exchanges in Malaysia and has introduced an affiliate program that gives users a 30 percent share of the trading fees from their referrals.
