Indonesian technology firm Gojek has on Tuesday announced its expansion to Binh Duong (Di An, Thuan An, Thu Dau Mot) and Dong Nai (Bien Hoa) provinces, neighboring cities of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

From today, people in the two fast-growing provinces can access Gojek’s on-demand services including transportation (GoRide and GoCar), food delivery (GoFood) and package delivery (GoSend) via the Gojek application, Gojek said in a statement.

Through this expansion, Gojek said it aims to serve more communities in Vietnam.

Gojek now provides users in Vietnam with access to a large ecosystem of providers of goods and services, including 200,000 driver partners and tens of thousands of food merchants in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai.

It is noted that the expansion will provide users in Binh Duong and Dong Nai with a convenient and affordable on-demand service option, and at the same time meet the locals’ daily needs, supported by its strong network of thousands of driver-partners and merchants in these provinces.

Gojek’s expanded presence also provides its merchant and driver-partners with access to increased earnings opportunities, by
connecting them to millions of people in these cities through the Gojek platform.

According to the statement, Gojek driver-partners in the outskirts of HCMC will also be able to serve new groups of customers more conveniently over a shorter distance.

It said drivers based in Binh Duong and Dong Nai can register as
Gojek driver-partners in these cities at the two Gojek Driver Care Centers in Thuan An and Bien Hoa.

“This expansion marks another significant milestone in our long-term business strategy in Vietnam and also highlights our commitment to serving users across the country,” said Sumit Rathor, General Manager, Gojek Vietnam.

“In line with our relentless focus on meeting changing consumer needs, the expansion will enable us to bring reliable and affordable on-demand services to even more people in Vietnam,

“It will also benefit our merchant and driver-partners, by giving them access to a larger user base and more income-earning opportunities,” he added.

Gojek’s expansion follows a number of successful initiatives in Vietnam this year, including piloting the use of electric motorbikes across ride-hailing services in Ho Chi Minh City through partnering with electric vehicle start-ups as well as offering its on-demand food delivery feature on the MoMo platform.

Gojek has also introduced more than ten new product features bringing better services and enhanced user experiences to the market, including GoCorp (Gojek’s services dedicated for corporates), GoCar Economy (GoCar service with more pricing options to serve different user needs), GoFood pickup (a feature allowing users to pick up their food orders on their own), and other features to optimize convenience for users.

Gojek is GoTo Group’s on-demand multi-service platform and digital payment technology group.

The firm provides access to a wide range of services including transportation, food delivery, logistics and more.

The company was first established in 2010 focusing on courier and motorcycle ride-hailing services, before launching its app in January 2015 in Indonesia.

Since then, Gojek has grown to become the leading on-demand platform in Indonesia, with additional operations in Vietnam and
Singapore.

The Gojek platform now comprises over 2.7 million driver partners across the region.
