Animoca Brands, the Hong Kong-based company advancing digital property rights for gaming and the open metaverse, announced Wednesday that it has become an official AWS Activate Provider, to accelerate Web3 development and true digital property rights.

Animoca Brands said in a statement that the partnership enables the firm to offer to its portfolio companies the tools, resources, content, and expert support to build on AWS and accelerate development for Web3 products and services.

Animoca Brands’ portfolio companies will also be able to directly apply for up to $25,000 in AWS Activate credits to support development on AWS.

With a growing portfolio of over 450 Web3 companies and projects, Animoca Brands said the firm is highly active in the development of decentralized ecosystems that offer users the benefits of true ownership over their digital assets.

It also said the ability to truly own digital property is a keystone of the open metaverse, where participants are not merely users but can also become owners and stakeholders.

According to the statement, the collaboration between AWS and Animoca Brands focuses on nurturing upcoming Web3 companies in Animoca Brands’ portfolio, and extending to them technical, networking, fundraising and marketing support from the AWS Startup team through the AWS Activate program, including credit, access to solution experts, mentorship and exclusive content and offers.

AWS Activate is a program that has helped hundreds of thousands of early stage startups grow their businesses in the cloud. Startups that qualify for AWS Activate can use these credits for scalable, reliable, and secure AWS Cloud services such as compute, storage, database, analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), and machine learning.

By leveraging AWS Activate benefits, Animoca Brands said the firm further connects its portfolio companies with AWS to enable them to build using world-class infrastructure, develop go-to-market strategies and partnerships across both Web2 and Web3 ecosystems, go global and gain visibility in minutes, and strengthen security and compliance.
