Animoca Brands, the Hong Kong-based company gaming firm, has partnered with stc play, a Saudi Arabia’s gaming platform, to collaborate on publishing video games in Middle East and North Africa (MENA), through stc play platform and other distribution channels.

Animoca Brands said in a statement on Tuesday that both parties have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a commercial agreement.

“Partnering with stc play is a significant advancement of our expansion strategy in the Middle East,

“As one of the largest telecom companies in the region, stc provides access to several million business and retail users across its expansive service offerings,” Yat Siu, the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands.

This commercial partnership with stc play represents another milestone in Animoca Brands’ strategy to support and develop the gaming and Web3 industries in Saudi Arabia and, more broadly, the MENA region.

Recently, Animoca Brands made a strategic investment into Nuqtah, Saudi Arabia’s first non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace.

Shortly before that, Animoca Brands entered into a strategic partnership with Manga Productions, the leading animations, comics, and games production company in the Middle East.

“Following our strategy and as an extension of our venture into gaming industry, we are glad to announce our collaboration with Animoca Brands to expand the gaming sector in Saudi Arabia by publishing video games in the MENA region using different distribution channels,

“This collaboration bridges the gap between the global and local games developing studios and its audience,” said Bader Almarshoud, the head of stc play.

Stc play is a gaming platform that offers gamers the chance to discover rich content created by other gamers and users, browse different gameplay sections, shop for gaming gear and digital items like vouchers and participate in or create tournaments with other gamers.

It also provides a chat feature to facilitate interaction between gamers.
