Sunway iLabs, the innovation lab and corporate venture capital arm of Malaysia-based Sunway Group, has announced a strategic partnership with China International Capital Corporation (CICC), one of China’s leading investment banks, to advance artificial intelligence (AI) technology and deepen cross-border cooperation between China and Malaysia.

As Southeast Asia’s deep tech and artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem continues to accelerate, Sunway iLabs, the innovation and corporate venture capital (CVC) arm of Malaysia-based Sunway Group, announced Tuesday a partnership with Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) Perennial, a global wealth management platform, to accelerate cross-border tech innovation.

In a strategic leap to supercharge innovation across Southeast Asia, Sunway iLabs, the innovation arm of Sunway Group, is partnering with Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd to launch the Startup Deep Tech Ventures Lab (DTVL) — a transformative six-month co-creation program dedicated to building and scaling high-impact artificial intelligence (AI) and deep tech startups.……

This year, the Sunway iLabs–JETRO Green Transformation Accelerator (GXA) Program focuses on sustainability. The program provides startups an engaging platform to be immersed in the Malaysian business ecosystem, collaborating with Sunway Group and its business partners.

Throughout the two-month long GXA program, these startups were immersed in Malaysia’s vibrant ecosystem, leveraging the extensive networks and support of Sunway Group, JETRO Kuala Lumpur, and knowledge partners, such as the Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA).

Through this collaboration, the innovations developed by start-up company, Sunway iLabs Super Accelerator, could be channeled to NTIS for testing in an actual urban setting developed by Sunway and for monitoring and sponsorship before taking the technological solutions to the market and implemented across the nation.

In the next three months of the Super Accelerator programme, Sunway iLabs will help the selected top five startup founders connect with Sunway’s global network of partners, industry experts, mentors and investors.
