Singapore will require sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) procured using proceeds from its SAF levy to deliver at least 40 percent lower lifecycle emissions than conventional jet fuel, ahead of its first tender for 20,000 to 30,000 tons of the fuel by mid-December 2026,  the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said on Thursday.

CAAS said in a statement that it has set out the sustainability and procurement criteria for the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) which Singapore will buy using proceeds from SAF Levy and uplift onto flights departing Singapore.

The Singapore Sustainable Aviation Fuel Company Ltd. (SAFCo) shared these criteria at a briefing to potential SAF suppliers and producers ahead of the first tender, which SAFCo will call by mid-December 2026, for delivery in June 2027.
