Animoca Asset Management (AD) Limited, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Animoca Brands, has received a Financial Services Permission from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market, allowing it to manage collective investment funds in or from the financial center.
In a statement on Tuesday, global digital assets company Animoca Brands said the permission authorises the regulated activity of managing a collective investment fund in or from ADGM. The permission extends its institutional capabilities and supports its expansion in the Middle East, Animoca Brands highlighted.
The permission can support its wider plans to build institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure, connect traditional financial institutions to decentralised networks, develop tokenised assets, and combine agentic AI with Web3 environments.
Minh Do, senior executive officer and director of Animoca Asset Management (AD), said securing the permission is a critical milestone for the company’s operations in the Middle East. It allows the firm to manage collective investment funds under a robust regulatory framework, linking institutional capital with the agentic web and digital assets.
Arvind Ramamurthy, chief market development officer at ADGM, said the firm’s expansion into fund management strengthens the links between institutional capital and digital assets in the financial center. He said ADGM will reinforce Abu Dhabi’s position as a hub for digital finance.
The permission follows an in-principle approval the same regulator granted in November 2025. That approval was subject to conditions, which trade coverage said included reviews of the firm’s technology, custody arrangements, and senior executives.
