Genie Health, a Singapore health technology company, has raised $3 million in seed funding to expand its consumer health app and its clinic platform.

In a statement on Wednesday, Genie Health said the round was led by the Nadathur Family Office, with participation from Liminal, a Founders’ Studio backed by Temasek, and two experienced healthcare investors. Anand Nadathur, principal of the Nadathur Family Office, will join the company’s board.

Genie Health will utilize the funding to improve its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, speed up adoption of its clinic product among clinics, and expand its product and engineering-healthcare teams in Singapore.

The company operates two products. Genie is a free personal health app for iOS and Android that combines health reports, lab results, wearable data, and family health history in a secure health locker, then generates personalized insights and guidance.

Genie SmartCare is a clinic platform that uses agentic AI, meaning software that carries out multi-step tasks with limited supervision, to engage patients around the clock, book appointments and follow-ups, and give care teams a fuller view of each patient.

Hari V. Krishnan, co-founder and CEO, said the funding would let the company scale both products faster while building out its vision of a two-sided health intelligence platform.

Anand Nadathur said the team brings experience building consumer platforms across Asia.

Philip Chan, senior builder at Liminal, said AI could help individuals and healthcare providers make better use of fragmented health information.

The company was co-founded by Krishnan, Maya Hari, and Sandeep Suvarna. Krishnan was CEO and managing director of PropertyGuru Group, and he previously headed LinkedIn’s Asia-Pacific business.

Maya Hari, who is chair of Genie Health, is a former CEO of Terrascope and led Twitter’s business in the region.

Suvarna headed international marketing at Twitch and Asia-Pacific marketing at LinkedIn.

The company cites Ministry of Health figures showing that one in three Singapore residents has at least one chronic condition, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or elevated blood glucose.

Genie Health is building its platform in response to the need for preventive care and for more efficient patient engagement.
