Vietnam and the United States have agreed on the content of a reciprocal trade agreement, and Vietnam has sent the final text to the United States, said Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc.

Tuc made the statement at the US-Vietnam Business Summit 2026 in Hanoi on Wednesday. He urged both sides to sign quickly, highlighting that the trade agreement would open larger opportunities for business communities in both countries.

The Deputy PM called on the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham Vietnam), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and leading U.S. companies to help speed up the agreement’s conclusion.

Besides, he also urged the United States to continue making it easier for Vietnamese goods to reach the American market in a stable and sustainable way.

Tuc also asked the United States to assess Vietnam’s economic practices in a fair and objective manner in the Section 301 investigations.

On domestic policy, Tuc said the government will push institutional reform and build an investment environment that is transparent, stable, predictable, and easier for investors. He called on Vietnamese companies to take a more active role in international integration, improve competitiveness, and participate more deeply in global value chains.

The speaker invited American companies to expand their investment in Vietnam and to deepen cooperation in core technologies, particularly semiconductors.
