Alibaba’s location-services platform Amap and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have launched Singapore Street Stars, a set of seven themed city rankings covering 104 attractions, neighborhoods and lifestyle destinations for Chinese visitors.
The launch is the first international edition of Amap Street Stars developed with a national tourism board. It follows a memorandum of understanding signed by Amap and STB in June covering travel discovery, trip planning and on-the-ground services for Chinese travelers.
Seven themed rankings
The Singapore rankings are organized around seven themes: Photo-Perfect Spots, Where Family Fun Begins, After-Dark Adventures, Next-Gen Crowd Favourites, Nature’s Reset, Curated Finds, and Local Life, Real Finds.
Destinations range from Gardens by the Bay, Merlion Park and Sentosa Island to Joo Chiat Road, Haji Lane, Maxwell Food Centre and Tiong Bahru Market. Amap said the rankings are based on actual user preferences rather than a conventional editorial list.
For participating restaurants, hotels and retailers, the program also provides another discovery channel into the travel behavior of Chinese visitors using Amap before and during trips.
Search demand for Singapore rises
Amap said average daily users searching for Singapore-related content during the 2026 summer travel season increased 52.3 percent compared with June. Searches for attractions rose 91.2 percent, while shopping and dining queries increased 87.4 percent and 70.9 percent, respectively.
The partnership gives STB access to a platform that has increasingly combined maps, local discovery and AI-supported spatial experiences. Earlier this month, Amap said more than 880 million users had used Street Stars over its first year and announced a spatial-intelligence upgrade to its Flying Street View feature.
For Singapore, the new guides fit a broader effort to use digital platforms to distribute visitors beyond the best-known landmarks while giving travelers recommendations tied more closely to their interests and search behavior.
