foodpanda has launched a plugin that lets users discover restaurants and meal options through ChatGPT and Claude using real-time availability from its delivery platform.
Users can describe what they want to eat, including cuisine, budget, dietary preferences, group size or occasion, and receive foodpanda options within an AI conversation before moving to the foodpanda app or website to complete an order.
The launch is an example of commerce discovery moving into conversational AI interfaces rather than beginning inside a retailer or marketplace app.
Restaurant discovery moves into AI conversations
foodpanda said the integration uses real-time restaurant availability rather than relying only on static recommendations. Users can ask for options that match constraints such as delivery timing, budget or a particular type of meal.
In ChatGPT, users can invoke foodpanda from within a conversation, while Claude users can ask for foodpanda recommendations through the integrated experience.
The company said the plugin is intended to shorten the path between deciding what to eat and finding available restaurants, while checkout remains on foodpanda.
