F5 has announced an integration with MuleSoft that brings F5 AI Guardrails into Agent Fabric, adding inline runtime security and centralized policy enforcement for enterprise agentic AI workflows.
The companies said the integration is designed to inspect prompts and model responses as organizations move AI agents from experiments into production workflows. It targets risks including prompt injection, jailbreaks, harmful outputs, unauthorized topics, and exposure of personally identifiable or other protected data.
F5 AI Guardrails will be federated into Agent Fabric’s Omni Gateway. According to the companies, LLM calls can be routed to the F5 AI Guardrails Scan API so inbound prompts and outbound completions are inspected before a model is invoked or a response is returned.
Enterprise controls for agentic AI
The integration is aimed at organizations that want to apply a common set of runtime security policies across Agentforce-powered agents, Agent Fabric workflows, and custom AI applications. F5 said the setup can reduce the need to maintain a separate inspection layer and fragmented telemetry.
Customers can also deploy the guardrail system in self-hosted Kubernetes environments, including private virtual private clouds, so sensitive prompt and completion data can remain within customer-controlled boundaries. Policy scanners, blocklists, and sensitivity thresholds can be maintained in the F5 console and picked up dynamically by Omni Gateway.
The companies said scan decisions include telemetry and shared scan IDs that can be correlated in the F5 console for audit and compliance work.
The move comes as Singapore companies increase their use of agentic AI while governance readiness remains uneven. Recent research covered by TNGlobal found gaps in agent registries, permission controls, human oversight, and governance processes among businesses adopting AI agents.
“AI agents are moving from experiments into the critical path of the enterprise,” said Kunal Anand, Chief Product Officer at F5. He said the integration places protection in the path of prompts and responses so organizations can apply controls in real time.
Andrew Comstock, Senior Vice President and General Manager at MuleSoft, said Agent Fabric is intended to support enterprises using agents across different models and platforms, with the F5 integration adding another security option within that environment.
F5 AI Guardrails for Agent Fabric is generally available. The companies plan to demonstrate the integration at Dreamforce in San Francisco from September 15 to 17, 2026.
