Huawei Cloud has moved its CodeArts Agent software-development platform from public beta to general availability across Asia Pacific, expanding access to an artificial intelligence tool designed to coordinate multiple specialized coding agents.
The Basic and Professional editions are now available to international Huawei Cloud users, the company said in an August 28 announcement. Huawei also launched the product in Singapore at its AI Boost Day event and introduced an early-access program for eligible local enterprises.
The commercial release follows an open beta in Thailand announced in July. Huawei is positioning CodeArts Agent for enterprise development teams working on larger codebases and longer-running software tasks rather than only short code-completion requests.
Sixteen agents cover the development cycle
CodeArts Agent combines code models, an integrated development environment and autonomous workflows. Huawei said the platform can generate code, answer software-engineering questions and create unit tests.
Its Agent Team function includes 16 specialized agents assigned to activities including requirements analysis, architecture design, coding, testing, issue resolution and code review. The agents can divide work across a project and coordinate the execution of longer tasks, according to the company.
Huawei said the platform incorporates more than 30 reusable engineering skills drawn from its own software practices. It also claims that CodeArts Agent can retrieve and interpret context across tens of millions of lines of code. TNGlobal could not independently verify that performance claim.
The service can be accessed through Huawei’s AI-native development environment, plugins and command-line or text-based interfaces. Huawei said enterprise customers can apply centralized management and security controls while connecting the agents to existing development workflows.
These functions place CodeArts Agent in a growing category of tools that attempt to move beyond code suggestions toward project-level planning and execution. Their enterprise adoption will depend in part on how organizations evaluate generated code, protect proprietary repositories and maintain human accountability for software changes.
Singapore launch extends regional rollout
Huawei announced the Singapore commercial launch through a media event on August 28. The company said eligible enterprises can receive three months of complimentary Professional Edition access, along with local coaching and implementation support.
Tim Tao, president of Huawei Cloud Solution Sales, said the company plans to bring more agent products and services to Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific market. Huawei did not disclose local customer deployments, adoption figures or regional revenue targets for CodeArts Agent.
In July, Huawei Cloud introduced its broader Agentic Infrastructure strategy in Thailand and opened CodeArts Agent for public beta there. TNGlobal reported that the beta supported project-level code generation, development questions and answers, and unit-test generation.
The shift to general availability means the product is moving into normal commercial service for international users. A separate Huawei Cloud service notice said existing users would not be affected and that pricing would remain unchanged when commercial availability began.
Enterprise claims still require testing
Huawei did not publish benchmark results comparing CodeArts Agent with other coding platforms or disclose which underlying models handle each task. The announcement also did not provide independent evidence for its claims about productivity, code understanding or the duration and complexity of work that agents can complete autonomously.
Enterprises assessing coding agents must also account for code provenance, intellectual-property exposure, security review and the possibility of incorrect output. Those considerations become more important when several agents can make coordinated changes across a large project.
CodeArts Agent’s Asia-Pacific release nevertheless gives Huawei Cloud a commercial entry in a fast-growing segment of enterprise AI. The next measure of its regional progress will be named deployments showing how development teams use the platform in production and how its output is governed.
