Versa, a Malaysia-based wealth management platform, has completed its Series A funding round led by AHAM Asset Management Berhad (AHAM Capital).

Other investors in this Series A round include Princeton University alumnus Tengku Fahad Mua’adzam Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, and Versa’s Chief Executive Officer Teoh Wei-Xiang, Versa said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the newly secured Series A funding will be strategically deployed to accelerate user acquisition and execute the firm’s product roadmap over the next five years.

With approximately 300,000 Malaysians already registered with the wealth management platform, Versa said the firm has played a vital role in helping Malaysians collectively
save more than MYR 500 million ($113 million) in 2024 alone, with 90 percent of Versa users under the age of 40.

“This funding is a testament to the confidence our investors have in our vision,

“We are committed to driving financial inclusivity and providing Malaysians with innovative, transparent, and rewarding investment solutions,” said Versa’s Chairman Noorazman.

Versa started in 2021 as a cash management solution, before evolving into an all-in-one wealth platform.

Today, the firm offers its users access to almost 20 conventional and Shariah-compliant funds.

It initially made waves in the industry by eliminating front-end fees—traditionally ranging from 2 percent to 5 percent — making investing more accessible and cost-effective for all Malaysians.

“We believe Versa is well-positioned to transform the wealth management industry in Malaysia,” said Teng Chee Wai, Managing Director of AHAM Capital.

“Their customer-centric approach and continuous innovation align with our vision for the future of financial services,

“This investment is among AHAM Capital’s largest, reflecting our strong belief in Versa’s potential and leadership,” he added.

It is noted that a recent internal survey of 2,912 Versa users revealed that 97 percent of Gen Y and Gen Z are willing to make lifestyle changes to improve their financial well-being.

This highlights the platform’s alignment with the evolving financial habits and aspirations of Malaysia’s younger generations.

It is also noted that Versa recently introduced Versa Quest, a feature designed to empower users to maximize their savings.

Users can unlock bonus booster rates on the platform by completing various financial quests.

It highlighted that Khairy Jamaluddin, who serves as Versa’s ambassador, has been instrumental in promoting Versa Quest and its benefits.

The company stated that the latest feature can help users stack additional returns, with some achieving returns as high as 9.3 percent in January 2025.
