Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), Malaysia’s 5G network operator, has partnered with Meta, the global technology company behind Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, to set up a joint innovation lab in Malaysia.

DNB said in a statement on Wednesday that this initiative aims to significantly enhance voice and video connectivity on Meta’s platforms.

The parties are currently working together to finalize the terms of the proposed collaboration.

The innovation lab will focus on driving advancements to improve the quality of experience for real-time communication (RTC) services on Meta’s social media and messaging platforms, leveraging the power of 5G connectivity.

This proposed collaboration underscores the critical need to deliver seamless, high-quality voice and video connectivity to users, ensuring they have the best possible
experience.

As part of this initiative, the joint innovation lab aims to optimize network performance and develop cutting-edge technologies to enhance real-time communications (RTC) quality of experience.

Key objectives of the lab include developing innovative solutions to optimize RTC quality of experience; enhancing network optimization techniques to reduce latency and increase bitrate for smoother communication; improving the overall user experience for DNB 5G network subscribers through better call clarity and reliability.
