VinSpace, a member of Vietnam’s conglomerate Vingroup ecosystem, has signed a launch contract with the United States-based SpaceX to carry its satellites aboard a Transporter rideshare mission in 2027.

In a statement on Tuesday, Vingroup said the collaboration is the company’s first launch agreement and a step toward its plan to develop Vietnam’s space industry. The announcement follows VinSpace announced plans to develop and launch its first satellites into orbit in 2027.

Under the agreement, VinSpace’s satellites will launch as part of SpaceX’s rideshare program, which enables multiple customers to share a single launch vehicle. VinSpace is responsible for the research, development, manufacturing, and on-orbit operation of its satellites.

The satellite will feature in-house developed technologies, strengthening satellite engineering capabilities and paving way for future commercial space applications.

VinSpace said the agreement is part of its long-term vision to become a full-stack aerospace company, developing capabilities across the space value chain, such as satellite design and manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing, launch mission management, satellite operations, and downstream space data products and services.

The contract with SpaceX is an important milestone in the company’s strategy to help build Vietnam’s space ecosystem and strengthen the country’s position within the global space economy.

Established in November 2025, VinSpace as an aerospace company operates in researching and developing “make-in-Vietnam” nano-satellite, serving telecommunications, remote sensing, and other socio-economic applications.
