Vietnam’s tech giant VNG Group reported adjusted operating profit of VND467 billion ($17.8 million) for the second quarter of 2026, up 86 percent year-on-year, with post-tax profit of VND467billion compared with VND 15 billion a year earlier

In a statement late last week, VNG, formerly known as game distributor Vinagame, said its consolidated net revenue reached VND3,087 billion, up 26 percent year-on-year.

Games and Entertainment recorded total bookings of VND2,359 billion, up 22 percent year-on-year, with nearly 62 million quarterly active users. International bookings reached VND362 billion, up 11 percent year-on-year, with notable titles such as Total Football, CookieRun: OvenSmash, Lineage W, Light and Night, and Ballistic Hero.

Messaging app Zalo and AI revenue reached VND639 billion, up 63 percent year-on-year. Zalo, as the most popular messaging app in Vietnam, recorded 81.3 million monthly active users and carried more than 2.2 billion messages per day. Approximately 24 million users — nearly one third of monthly active users — engaged AI-enabled messaging and calling features each month, up 33 percent year-on-year.

Zalopay, the payment platform associated with Zalo, reached VND241 billion in revenue, up 90 percent year-on-year, with financial services revenue up 456 percent year-on-year. Active users rose 39 percent year-on-year and total payment volume rose 66 percent.

Cloud service GreenNode reported revenue of VND144 billion, down 17 percent year-on-year, reflecting a shift from traditional services toward AI infrastructure. Within the segment, AI Cloud revenue rose 271 percent, overall cloud revenue rose 40 percent, and banking and financial services solutions rose 73 percent. GreenNode, an official NVIDIA cloud partner, now serves more than 1,000 enterprise customers across Vietnam, Southeast Asia, and the United States.

VNG’s full-year 2026 business plan targets net revenue of VND12.5 trillion to VND 13.5trillion, representing growth of 15 to 25 percent, and the company’s first full-year profit since its VNZ shares began trading on UPCoM.
