Vietnam’s technology giant FPT Corporation and Microsoft will jointly accelerate enterprise AI adoption and co-innovation across Asia, with a strong focus on ASEAN, Japan, and South Korea.
In a statement on Wednesday, FPT said it has reached an expanded strategic collaboration with Microsoft for the move. The collaboration will combine Microsoft’s global AI platforms with FPT’s large-scale delivery and regional market capabilities.
FPT will work with Microsoft as an AI Frontier Company, a designation for organizations that are human-led and agent-operated, to embed AI agents into everyday workflows. This includes early roadmap alignment, experimentation with emerging AI capabilities, and development of reference architectures for enterprise scale.
FPT, which employs 30,000 AI-augmented engineers globally, will utilize Microsoft platforms, including Microsoft 365 Copilot and GitHub Copilot, in its internal AI transformation. It aims to equip up to 20,000 developers with agentic development capabilities over the next three years.
The two companies will also cooperate to support Vietnam’s ambition to become an AI Frontier Government, with collaboration spanning thought leadership, capability building, and policy-aligned solution frameworks.
Mayank Wadhwa, President of Microsoft ASEAN, said Vietnam is entering a pivotal phase of AI adoption where organizations are ready to scale beyond pilots, and that combining Microsoft’s AI platforms with FPT’s engineering strength will help Vietnamese enterprises accelerate transformation safely and responsibly.
