The Philippines Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has invited Vietnamese firms, especially electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast, to explore manufacturing opportunities in its economic zones.
In a statement last Saturday, the PEZA said Director General Tereso Panga recently had discussions with Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines about organizing an inbound delegation of Vietnamese companies, including VinFast, to explore expansion opportunities in Philippine economic zones.

Panga said VinFast’s entry into the ecozones would complement PEZA’s initiatives to attract investment in electric vehicle manufacturing, battery assembly, automotive electronics, and charging infrastructure. Following the recent entry of two Indonesian automotive companies into Philippine economic zones, more Vietnamese manufacturing firms can consider locating there to utilize the country’s domestic market, skilled workforce, and preferential access to the United States and European Union, the executive added.
The invitation follows the elevation of Philippines-Vietnam relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, which PEZA said is expected to open new avenues for trade, investment, and industrial collaboration between the two countries.
