Plaud, the US artificial intelligence (AI) note taker brand, has on Wednesday announced plans to expand its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore with an investment of over S$10
million ($7.77 million) to strengthens its presence in the region.
The firm said in a statement that the Singapore office will oversee its regional strategy for Asia-Pacific, while supporting key global and regional functions including cloud infrastructure, AI development, human resources, finance, treasury and global legal compliance.
The company estimates that its Singapore expansion will involve an investment of over S$10 million ($7.77 million), covering its expanded office footprint, hiring plans and broader operational build-out.
As part of this expansion, Plaud plans to expand its local workforce to approximately 150 employees by the end of 2026.
This would bring its global workforce to over 600 employees.
“Singapore is a natural base for Plaud’s next phase of growth in Asia-Pacific,
“The region is highly diverse, multilingual and fast-moving, and Singapore gives us access to strong AI, engineering and regional business talent,” said Nathan Xu, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Plaud.
“As Plaud scales globally, our Singapore team will play a larger role not only in regional operations, but also in product development, AI development and data infrastructure,” he added.
According to the statement, Singapore will play an important role in Plaud’s global AI development efforts, with local teams working on the technologies that underpin the company’s next generation of AI- powered products.
The company is hiring AI engineers, AI agent architects and data scientists in Singapore to develop areas such as AI workflows and intelligent agent systems, with the goal of making Plaud’s products more capable, accurate and useful for professionals.
Working alongside Plaud’s global product and engineering teams, the Singapore office will contribute to the company’s worldwide AI roadmap, reinforcing its role as both an Asia- Pacific headquarters and first research and development (R&D) hub in the region.
Against this backdrop, Singapore will serve as Plaud’s strategic hub to unlock the region’s diverse markets.
