Green and Smart Mobility (GSM), the ride-hailing service under the ecosystem of Vietnam’s conglomerate Vingroup, has launched its shared business platform, Green SM Platform, in Indonesia and the Philippines.
The move marked a new phase in its regional expansion after more than two years of operating internationally, the firm said in a release on Monday.
Beginning April 13, owners and renters of VinFast electric vehicles in both countries can register as service partners on the platform. VinFast is the electric vehicle manufacturer under Vingroup ecosystem.
The system is part of GSM’s broader electric mobility ecosystem and is intended to increase the availability of drivers and vehicles while maintaining standardized service quality. Registered drivers will participate in training programs covering operational procedures and service standards. The programs aim to ensure consistency in customer experience across markets, GSM highlighted.
GSM also offers support in both countries to improve access to electric vehicles through purchase and rental programs. In Indonesia, participants can operate models such as the VF 5, VF e34, VF 6, and Limo Green. In the Philippines, the program will initially include the VF 5 and Limo Green models, alongside support related to registration, insurance, and operations. According to GSM, drivers using VinFast electric vehicles will be eligible for free charging policies through March 31, 2029, which may help reduce operating costs.
The expansion into Indonesia and the Philippines can strengthen GSM’s presence in Southeast Asia while contributing to the development of electric mobility infrastructure in the region, the ride-hailing service noted.
