Japan-based SoftBank Group Corp. announced Wednesday that it has completed the acquisition of all equity interests in Ampere Computing Holdings LLC, a U.S.-based semiconductor design company, through its subsidiary Silver Bands 6 (US) Corp.
SoftBank said in a statement that as a result, Ampere has become a wholly owned subsidiary of SoftBank.
Ampere’s financial position and results of operations will be included in SoftBank’s consolidated financial statements from the date of acquisition.
The impact of the transaction on SoftBank’s consolidated financial results is currently under review.
Earlier in March, SoftBank entered into an agreement with Ampere to acquire all of the equity interests of Ampere for $6.5 billion through Silver Bands 6.
Ampere is a U.S.-based semiconductor design company focused on high-performance, energy efficient, sustainable artificial intelligence (AI) compute based on the ARM compute platform.
