Singapore digital bank Trust Bank will roll out a trading feature for US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) inside its Trust app, expanding its TrustInvest suite beyond managed funds. The bank has opened a waitlist and said customers will be invited to set up trading accounts on a first-come, first-served basis in the coming weeks.
The new capability includes fractional trading—allowing customers to buy portions of shares rather than whole units—which Trust says makes higher-priced names more accessible to first-time and budget-conscious investors. Trust positions this as a first for a banking app in Singapore; while a number of brokerages already offer fractional shares, Trust’s feature will be embedded directly within a retail bank app experience.
“Following the success of our initial TrustInvest launch, we are excited to expand our offering so that customers can trade US stocks and ETFs,” said Trust Bank chief executive Dwaipayan Sadhu. “Offering fractional trading means that all our customers can access a wide range of investments, with the confidence of doing so through an easy-to-use and seamless banking app.” Trust added that the integrated flow—funding, trading, and custody within the Trust app—is intended to reduce friction for retail users.
Trust launched TrustInvest in February 2025 with a selection of funds and has since passed the one-million customer mark, according to earlier disclosures. The bank said eligibility checks will apply when customers apply for a stocks account, and non-customers can join by first opening a Trust Savings account through the app.
The bank’s move comes as local platforms race to lower barriers to participation in US markets. Several online brokerages – global and domestic – already support fractional trading, though these are typically delivered via standalone brokerage apps rather than a full-service banking application.
