The SEA Monthly Funding Tracker for October 2026 recorded a surge in total capital deployment, reaching $3,682.7 million across 13 rounds. This represents a 1,665 percent increase month-on-month (September 2026: $208.64 million), and a 933 percent increase compared to the same period last year (October 2025: $356.47 million).
Round count actually fell (13 versus 17 in September 2026 and 23 in October 2025), underscoring that the record dollar total was driven by a handful of very large late-stage rounds rather than by broad-based deal activity — most notably Kling AI’s nearly $3 billion raise.
Stage-Wise Funding Trends
October was a late-stage month as late-stage funding dominated at 98.6 percent ($3,630 million) of total capital. Early-stage rounds accounted for just 1 percent ($36.1 million). Seed-stage rounds made up 0.4 percent ($16.6 million). Late-stage consists of Series C onwards and PE funding.

Key Takeaways
Record-Breaking Month: Total funding jumped nearly 18-fold versus September, driven almost entirely by Kling AI’s roughly $3 billion Series E. Stripping out that single deal leaves about $703 million — still a healthy month, but a fraction of the headline figure.
Late-Stage Dominance: At 98.6 percent of all capital, late-stage rounds dwarfed early and seed activity, reflecting a concentration of mega-rounds rather than a broadening of deal volume.
Singapore’s Near-Monopoly: Singapore-based startups captured $3.66 billion of the $3.68 billion deployed, cementing the city-state’s role as the region’s dominant funding hub.
AI at the Core: The month’s three largest raises — Kling AI, Manus, and Supabase — all sit in AI and AI-adjacent infrastructure, underscoring investors’ continued appetite for generative AI and developer tooling.
