A group of seven banks has arranged an expanded multi-currency financing package of MYR15 billion ($3.7 billion), for DayOne Data Centers, a Singapore-headquartered digital infrastructure company.

In a joint statement on Tuesday, the seven banks said the package takes its total financing for Johor facility in Malaysia, to MYR30 billion.

CIMB, Crédit Agricole CIB, DBS, Maybank, OCBC, Standard Chartered, and UOB acted as mandated lead arrangers, bookrunners, and joint coordinators on the facility. Maybank said it is the largest overall provider of Ringgit Islamic financing commitments to DayOne.

The new package comprises an additional $2.4 billion offshore term loan and a MYR5.5 billion Murabahah facility, an Islamic financing structure that uses a sale at a disclosed mark-up in place of interest. It adds to a MYR15 billion multi-currency financing secured in 2025.

The banks said the combined platform reinforces DayOne’s commitment to expanding hyperscale data center capacity in Johor.

The funds will go toward the next phase of capacity development across DayOne’s platform as demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital services accelerates. Scalable digital infrastructure plays a key role to regional connectivity and economic growth, the seven banks highlighted.

Maybank said DayOne is “raising the bar for sustainable digital infrastructure” by combining hyperscale capacity with energy-efficient design and renewable power. Crédit Agricole CIB said Malaysia’s data center supply capacity is growing at nearly 39 percent a year from 2023, and forecast it to reach 4.2 to 6.1 GW by 2030.

DBS said AI is driving one of the largest investment cycles in Asia in decades and that the Johor-Singapore corridor is becoming a strategic node in the AI ecosystem.
