Singapore-based telecommunications StarHub will acquire MyRepublic’s mobile business in Singapore, in order to boost its multi-brand mobile strategy.

In a statement on Thursday, StarHub said the move can support its continued investment in Singapore’s connectivity infrastructure. MyRepublic Mobile customers will continue to enjoy their existing services without disruption, backed by StarHub’s mobile network, the telco said.

The acquisition is subject to fulfillment of some conditions.

The transaction will allow greater scale to be directed towards sustained network investment, service innovation and customer experience, and diversified brands and propositions for customers, StarHub added.

Nikhil Eapen, CEO of StarHub, said: “Our acquisition of MyRepublic Mobile completes a multi-year journey that began with our investment in MyRepublic Broadband in 2021.”

“With ongoing consolidation, we are bringing greater scale to invest more effectively in the networks, resilience and innovation that Singapore will increasingly depend on,” the executive added.
