Philippine telecommunications company PLDT is using internally developed AI agents across enterprise sales, knowledge retrieval and risk management, with UiPath saying the deployments are saving tens of thousands of hours of manual work each year.
The company received a Silver Award at the 2026 UiPath AI Breakthrough Awards for the implementation. According to an October 5 announcement from UiPath, PLDT built the agents using UiPath Agent Builder, Integration Service and Robots.
Sales assistant targets proposal work
One of the systems, called Ellie, short for Enablement & Intelligence Engine, brings together enterprise knowledge and live customer relationship management data for PLDT’s sales teams. UiPath said the assistant can generate customer-ready proposals and presentations while also monitoring customer-health indicators for churn and upsell opportunities.
PLDT estimates Ellie is reclaiming around 18,000 to 25,000 hours of work annually. Sales teams have reported a 40 percent to 60 percent reduction in time spent developing standard proposal and presentation materials, while proposal error rates fell by 40 percent to 50 percent, according to the announcement. PLDT also reported a 20 percent to 50 percent increase in upsell rates.
Knowledge and risk workflows
PLDT has also deployed KAI, or Knowledge, Automation, Intelligence, for knowledge retrieval. The company said the system reduces research that could previously take up to five days to contextual responses delivered in one to three seconds. UiPath estimated that KAI frees roughly 25,000 to 30,000 hours of manual effort annually.
A separate Enterprise Risk Intelligence Companion Agent, or ERICA, automates structured risk statements and scoring against compliance standards. The company said the tool has reduced manual effort by 97 percent to 99 percent and shortened risk assessments from two to 10 days to between five minutes and one day.
The figures were supplied by PLDT and UiPath and were not independently verified by TNGlobal.
PLDT and Smart First Vice President and Head of IT and Transformation Office Gilbert Gaw said the recognition reflects the company’s work on Ellie, KAI and ERICA and its broader effort to expand the use of agentic AI across operations.
