Tokgistic Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-registered affiliate of short video platform TikTok will invest $980 million in a logistics project in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City, part of the social-media company’s growing presence in Vietnam.

In a statement on Wednesday, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance said it granted the investment certificate to Tokgistic on September 7. Tokgistic will initially contribute $196 million, or 20 percent, and will raise the remaining capital later. The project, named Swift Logistics, runs for 50 years and is due to begin operations in November.

Swift Logistics is registered for postal, delivery, market-research, and management-consulting services. For postal services, it will contract with customers but pass the actual delivery and logistics to third-party providers.

The project follows plans TikTok discussed with Ho Chi Minh City in November 2025. TikTok then proposed setting up three companies in logistics, digital payments, and digital commerce, with connections to the city’s Vietnam International Financial Center.

The Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City is a government initiative to develop the city as a regional financial hub.

TikTok said at the time that its logistics operations could handle 1 billion to 2 billion orders a year. A payments arm can serve about 45 million users in Vietnam and its digital-commerce activity can serve more than $10 billion in annual transaction value.

In April, TikTok Shop Vietnam announced a foreign investment of $125 million in Ho Chi Minh city. With Swift Logistics, the two projects’ combined registered capital reaches $1.1 billion.

Ho Chi Minh City attracted more than $10.06 billion in foreign direct investment in the first eight months of 2026, up 167.3 percent from a year earlier and equal to 91.5 percent of its annual target, according to the Department of Finance.

Tokgistic Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore-registered affiliate of TikTok, the short-video platform owned by China’s ByteDance.
