Hong Kong-based digital bank, Ant Bank, and its embedded-finance provider, Bettr, both under Singapore’s Ant International, were selected for the liquidity-risk management track of Hong Kong regulators’ GenA.I. Sandbox++.

In a statement on Thursday, Ant International said Ant Bank would deploy Ant International’s Falcon Time-Series Transformer AI Model 2.0 to strengthen foreign-exchange and liquidity management. The integration can help the bank predict cash flows with greater accuracy in support of an always-on digital banking service.

Ant Bank is the only Hong Kong digital bank integrated with an e-wallet, according to Ant International.

The partnership will deploy granular, statistically grounded daily forecasts to give the bank’s treasury team more precise and proactive liquidity planning. Bettr’s platform technology will support the deployment of the model for the treasury team. The two strive to develop best practices for AI-driven liquidity-risk management for the wider financial industry.

Ant International said Falcon is its proprietary time-series model, built for forecasting in foreign-exchange risk management of cross-border payments. Its version 2.0 reached state-of-the-art performance on the Mean Absolute Scaled Error metric on a leading global public benchmark for time-series foundational models, with forecast accuracy exceeding 93 percent.

The sandbox was launched by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority together with the Securities and Futures Commission, the Insurance Authority, the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority and Cyberport. It aims to foster AI innovation in the city’s financial industry.

Ant International said it had taken part in the HKMA’s Ensemble Sandbox since 2024, becoming a member of the Ensemble Architecture Community and EnsembleTX in 2025. Ant Bank had also joined a cross-border payment link between Hong Kong and mainland China launched by the People’s Bank of China and the HKMA, enabling real-time transfers, and had taken part in an HKMA and Cyberport anti-fraud AI sandbox.
