The Quang Trung Software City (QTSC), the high-tech industrial park in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City, and the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) will collaborate in semiconductor activities.
The two sides have signed a memorandum of understanding on semiconductor cooperation on Tuesday, at the Vietnam-Singapore Semiconductor Industry Cooperation Forum 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City, the QTSC said in a statement on the same day.
Under the agreement, QTSC and SSIA will collaborate on business networking, investment promotion, research and development, technology transfer, human resource development, and international cooperation in the semiconductor sector.
A separate MOU was signed at the forum between SSIA, the Vietnam Semiconductor Human Resources Development Alliance (SEVINA), and FPT Polytechnic College, covering training cooperation and development of engineers and specialists for the semiconductor industry.
The forum also covered Vietnam’s semiconductor development strategy, semiconductor trends in Asia, opportunities for participation in global value chains, wafer supply chain development in Vietnam, and high-quality human resource training. Presentations were delivered by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, HCMC C4IR, SSIA, US company Ultrasil LLC, and SEVINA.
Vietnam’s semiconductor market is projected to grow by $2.22 billion between 2025 and 2030, at a compound annual growth rate of approximately 7.1 percent, according to a Research and Markets report.
Many international semiconductor companies have already operating in Vietnam, including Marvell, Renesas, Infineon, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, and Hana Micron. The 2026-2030 period is a pivotal window for Vietnam to transition from a supply chain participant to forming a more complete semiconductor ecosystem, participants at the forum highlighted.
Tran Huu Dung, Director of the QTSC, said the organization aims to develop in facility into a destination for high-tech and semiconductor companies. It strives to connect businesses, research institutes, universities, and international partners, with semiconductors as a priority.
